Who We Are…

CrossMovement Dance Ministry exists to glorify God through the creativity of dance by worshipping God for who He is and for His great worth with all of our heart, mind, soul, and body. Dance is one response to God that we may use to express our gratefulness and love. Because we believe that God deserves our utmost, we are committed to instructing and teaching excellent dance technique and creative movement. Our focus is on bringing glory to God!

Meredith Worley

Ministry Director/Dance Instructor

Meredith Worley has been dancing and teaching for over 30 years. Her passion is to see children and adults use their body as a way to honor and worship Jesus through dance. She has a degree in dance education from UNC-Charlotte where she studied under Delia Neil, Vincent Brosseau, Gerda Zimmerman and Pamela Sofras. She was also a member of the UNCC Gold Dusters. She has had the privilege of choreographing and directing musicals for Lexington Youth Theatre and Lexington Senior High School, as well as musicals and cantatas for churches in the surrounding piedmont. In addition to directing CMDM, Meredith is a dance educator for Lexington Senior High School.

Katelyn Loflin

Assistant Director / Instructor: Ballet, Tap, Precision Jazz

Katelyn Loflin has definitely had a passion for dance since a very young age. She began dance classes at the age of three and has been a part of Cross Movement for most of her life. Over the years, she has trained in many different styles of dance including ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, jazz, and hip hop. God has blessed her with opportunities to study dance, perform, compete, and teach at various different places. CMDM has always been her home and has had a tremendous impact on her life, not only through learning dance, but also helping her grow in her faith and form lifelong friendships.

When Kate is not dancing, she works at Footsteps Preschool, is a middle school youth leader at her church, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. If she finds any free time you will most likely catch her curled up with a book and a cup of coffee. One of Kate’s greatest joys is passing along her knowledge and passion for dance and seeing her students use this powerful art as a way to worship and bring glory to Jesus!

Joy Brindle

Dance Instructor: Ballet, Technique, Pre-Pointe

Joy Brindle is a believer with a passion for the performing arts, specializing in dance worship. She has been dancing since she was a toddler – watching The Nutcracker in her living room and imitating the movements of the professional ballerinas. Her pursuit of technical training and passion for worship led her to perform, teach, and eventually manage and direct, at Arts Evangelica – a Christian dance company with a mission to “reclaim the arts for God’s glory” – where her passion for transforming dance into worship was refined and encouraged. While with Arts Evangelica, she also toured internationally and was given the opportunity to write, choreograph, produce and direct her own original ballet, “Tabernacle.” In addition, she was privileged to perform in Firebird and Swan Lake at MasterWorks Festival summer intensive concerts in Indiana.

Joy now pursues her personal mission to reclaim dance for God’s glory and transform dance into worship as a freelance dancer, teacher, choreographer, and director of Dance Remade, a dance ministry for all ages at her church.

Mariah Hill

Dance Instructor: Ballet, Tap, Beginner Hip Hop

Mariah Hill began dancing with CrossMovement at the age of three. Throughout the years, her love of dance has grown and flourished. She has experience in many genres of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater and West African dance. Becoming an instructor at CrossMovement has given her the opportunity to connect with dancers of all ages. She enjoys watching her students grow in their technique and abilities, but also in their walk with Jesus. There is something truly special about seeing students worship their creator through the art of dance!

In 2021, Mariah graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. degree in Psychology and a minor in American Sign Language. She currently works in the research department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. Along with dance, she enjoys singing and has been in various theatrical productions across the triad. She is grateful for the opportunity to dance and choreograph in a worship focused environment.

Carly Everhart

Dance Instructor: Acrobatics, Tumbling

Carly has been teaching acrobatics for CMDM for 7 years and has been a part of CrossMovement for 10 years. In 2011, she attended a Night of Worship and her life was forever changed by the beauty that she saw. For most of her life she has loved God and loved cheerleading, but she never realized that she could display her love for one through the other. The experience moved her to join CMDM so that she could use her talents to draw nearer to Christ. Teaching acro allows her to not only share her love for Jesus, but to combine her passions of teaching and tumbling. Carly is currently studying mathematics and Secondary Education at UNC Charlotte. She looks forward to sharing the joy of the Lord with the beautiful body of believers each year.
